Playgroup for March 7
Playgroup will be in the gym tomorrow. Nothing fancy, just some good ol' running around, but if you would like to bring toys to share since the nursery is now locked for good, please do. Bring you're lunch if you want. See you tomorrow!

Playgroup for Feb 22
Hi guys! Sorry for the late email, my weeks has been... eventful, as many of you know. I know I had on the schedule a trip to Pirate Island tentatively in the works, but that hasn't really been discussed, so I'm postponing it until next week. Let's talk about it tomorrow. We will be having playgroup in the nursery like normal, so I'll see you all there!

Thai Pumpkin Soup
I made this for the Bonneville 5th Ward Relief Society Christmas party in December.
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 Tbsp brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 small pumpkin, skinned & chopped into 1-inch chunks
2-1/4 c. water
1-2/3 c. canned coconut cream
1 Tbsp hot sweet Thai chili sauce (Maploy)
1 Tbsp lemon grass, finely chopped
1 Tbsp fish sauce
freshly ground pepper
1/4 c. fresh cilantro
chopped cilantro leaves, for garnish
In a large pot, heat oil and gently cook onion with brown sugar and garlic over low heat until softened (8-10 min). Add chopped pumpkin, water, coconut cream, chili, lemongrass or rind and fish sauce. Season with freshly ground pepper. Simmer for about 25 minutes until tender. Remove and puree until smooth. Just before serving, adjust seasoning to taste. Mix in chopped coriander. Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with a fresh coriander leaf.
*The same amount of grated lemon peel can be substituted.

Playgroup for December 7
Hello fellow playgroup attendees! It's the Christmas season and with that comes holiday travel, which will effect a lot of us including myself. Because of this we've tweaked the schedule a little bit, so please take note. The new schedule is below. We also discussed having a craft box for the winter season. If you have any craft item you would be willing to donate, please bring them tomorrow or next week and I will bring a box to put them in. This way we can engage the kids in crafts when they get bored with nursery toys. Next week will be our first craft, which will be Christmas tree ornaments (beads, pipe cleaners, construction paper snow flakes etc) and I will bring the stuff for that. If you have craft ideas you want to try, let me know and we will do them!
Also, it was discussed that traveling somewhere would be something to look into.
